3. Adderley was a member of the Miles Davis Sextet at the time this album was recorded. He had Davis’ ear so to speak, but even so, getting the notorious bandleader to agree to not be in the center of the spotlight is an amazing feat. Not long after Somethin’ Else was released, Davis’ own Kind of Blue, which featured Adderley, hit shelves.
